The West Bengal joint Entrance Examinations Board was formed as west Bengal Board of Examination for Admission to Engineering Degree Colleges in the year 1962, born out of a concept of holding a common admission test for the Engineering colleges of the State of West Bengal. The basic purpose was to select candidates for consideration for admission to the State Colleges on the basis of the results of a single competitive examination, which would also lead to saving of time, energy and expenditure on the part of the candidates in appearing at number of entrance tests.West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE):Engineering education in West Bengal has an exclusive position in Indian Education Scenario for producing array of intellectuals and Nobel Laureates. The selection to various west bengal engineering colleges are held through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) Board. For the engineering courses in west bengal entrance exams in engineering & technology, dairy technology, architecture, the candidate has to apply for â€˜Eâ€™ form which contains the question related to PCM- physics, chemistry & mathematics group. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or WBJEE is a centralized test controlled by the state government for admission to numerous medical and engineering institutions in West Bengal. This test is taken after the 12th grade for admission to bachelors courses.
